Finally a way not to spend $300 to determine ovulation. This unit works and costs nothing compared to the urine tests.

After some researching on ovulation kits, my husband and I settled on this one. First of all, it is completely reuseable. This was hugely attractive since I am so irregular that my doctor wondered if I had ever ovulated. I would have spent a fortune on the urine tests which only come 7 or 9 in a package because I wouldn’t have known which days to test.
Also, this is extremely easy to use and the directions are easy to understand and follow. Basically the principle as I understand it is that in your dried saliva when you are ovulating is a ferning pattern which you can see through this device. It is amazing….they have a picture on the box and when you see what looks like a mess of pine tree on the slide…you know it is positive.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this machine….I would recommend also purchasing either lens tissue or one of those microfiber cloths that you might use to clean a camera lens or glasses with. It helps you to make sure that you’ve cleaned the slide well in between days to see the results accurately.
Try it if you want to get pregnant….for someone who never thought it could be possible….I am now a proud mommy!

I am 28 and very irregular, averaging a 31 day cycle. My husband is 37 and has had testosterone issues in the past, in 4 years we have never used birthcontrol. I bought this handy little tool in May. We concieved June 11. Now at the end of my first trimester, I am still in disbelief that we conceived our first time trying. This is a wonderful product.

Very easy to use, and to my knowledge it’s pretty accurate.
Now, what is not mentioned anywhere is that it also can predict pregnancy. If 5-10 days after ovulation you still keep getting the same rich fern pattern, you probably are pregnant. I’ve thought it should work this way, but never had a chance to prove my idea untill recently. Happy to tell, I was correct!

i am a huge advocate of this little thing. it’s compact and easy to travel with; far less expensive than standard ovulation predictors (which get you on the pee sticks as well as the computerized thing!); and easy to use. I tried the computerized ovulation predictor and it didn’t work. Then we tried Ovulite in combination with checking body temperature and got pregnant the second month. The Ovulite DOES predict pregnancy as well — I found out I was pregnant with Ovulite before any pee test could tell! Highly recommend.

It was hard to choose a particular brand of saliva microscopes and I’m glad Ovulite was my choice!
It’s small and practical, you can turn the eyepiece to better focus and the green LED light makes it really easy to see the fern-like patterns.
The fact that they offer a toll-free 24/7 helpline is great!!! I used it once and they were really helpfull!
The only things I didn’t like about it were:
1. it was a little disappointing to open it see that it came with a tiny scratch on the eyepiece, but it didn’t prevent me from clearly seeing the result. The whole eyepiece looks very fragile… I was always afraid of breaking it.
2. it doesn’t come with anything to clean the slide with… ended up using a q-tip to clean it.
I used the microscope the whole month of April and am glad to say that thanks to Ovulite it was a breeze to pinpoint my best fertile days and just found out that I’M PREGNANT!!!!

I have only used this product for 1 month but it works very well and is accurate. I was not charting my temperature this month but I did notice fertile cervical fluid the same day that Ovulite gave me the very fertile fern pattern. I have noticed also though that on another ovulation scope manufacturer’s website that some women have a secondary estrogen surge just before/after their period starts so this may also give a strong fern pattern during your period. I had the same thing happen to me the day before my period showed up. I am not trying to conceive just yet but trying to figure out approximately when I ovulate so I will be prepared for later.

The hardest thing is learning what true ferning looks like, but after a month of doing it you will know what it looks like. Usually occurs the day before you ovulate.

We considered using more complicated ovulation predictors that rely on a battery powered unit to scan a sample, but those are quite expensive and require purchasing disposable supplies. With the Ovulite all you need is some saliva and good eye-sight, no supplies to buy, ever. We used the Ovulite for two months and the second month I was pregnant. Some tips for use: make sure the saliva is completely dry before viewing, use it every couple days for an entire month to begin to understand when the fern patterns start to appear and how they fade out along with your cycle.

I found Ovulite to work great (I got pregnant the first time we tried, when Ovulite said I was “ferning”)!
Make sure you get a pretty thick layer of saliva on the slide.
I liked this product because I can use it over and over again, and I don’t feel like I am being ripped off.

This product is great and more people should know about it! How it works is cheap and fantastic! Instead of having to purchase sticks to use every day, you just put the spit from under you tongue first thing in the morning on the glass. Put the glass top back on the Lipstick tube looking thing and that’s it your ready to go.
what your doing is looking at your dried saliva. before you ovulate we have more estrogen in our bodies. You compare your dried saliva with the pictures they give you. Very very simple. I hated pee sticks because i was always unsure if the line was brighter than yesterday or not. …

This is my first cycle with this, for kicks i have used it every day and i can see the difference as I build up to ovulation. Im very happy, I know this is going to be my best bet for accurate ovulation since im so irregular!!

You need to get the hang of it, but it does work. My second child was conceived thanks to the help of Ovulite. Now we’re working on number three! The price is right too. You can use it for as many months as it takes to conceive and then again for your subsequent pregnancies.
